Ascent Revisited
It takes courage to do what you want. - JC
The Return
The return is perhaps the hardest stage for the hero. We get the top. We win the prize. We taste pure bliss. However, in the back of our minds, we know that we must return to the ordinary world. Some times we do not want to return. For we know the ordinary world we left behind is full of the beckoning functionality of the mundane. But return we must. We return with the courage to share with the world the prize we have won.
The whole mystery of life is contained within the egg of a flea, so writes Joseph Campbell. Many of you returned from Ascent with a renewed sense of vigour, a sense of purpose, and a determination to live the life you were born to live.
In any good story, the hero grows and changes. What we would like to know is how you have changed since those first steps in the dark. So we are cordially inviting you to a one day Hero’s Gathering in the Peak District on
Saturday, 18 November
Come and join your fellow adventurers for a day of walking, reflecting and sharing.
The cost is free, but you must reserve a place.
